SD-WAN

Every site on one network, whatever link each one has

Once a business has three sites on three different connections, the network is the problem. SD-WAN puts an intelligent edge at each site that uses every link it has — fibre, NBN, 4G/5G — fails over between them, and gives voice the right of way. Head office, branches, the warehouse and the cloud behave like one network, and we watch it from Adelaide.

  • Uses every link at each site, fails over between them
  • Voice and video prioritised across the network
  • Site-to-site without a carrier private network
  • Monitored and managed by us

Why choose us

Any link, any carrier

Each site uses what is available and affordable there. SD-WAN makes them behave as one.

Failover per site

Fibre plus 4G, or two NBN services from different carriers — the edge switches without a call.

Voice first

3CX and Teams traffic gets priority end to end, so a large file transfer at head office does not break a call at the branch.

Secure between sites

Encrypted tunnels between locations and to the cloud, with a central policy instead of a firewall per site.

Seen from one screen

Every site's links, usage and failovers in one place — ours, and yours if you want it.

Grows a site at a time

Add a shop or a site office in a day, on whatever connection it can get.

SD-WAN or VPN?

A VPN joins sites over the internet and is the right answer for two or three offices with decent links. SD-WAN earns its keep when sites have more than one link, when voice quality across sites matters, or when there are enough locations that managing tunnels one by one has become a job.

Frequently asked questions

VPN or SD-WAN — what is the difference?

A VPN is an encrypted tunnel between two points over the internet, and it is the right answer for two or three offices with decent links. SD-WAN puts an intelligent edge at each site that uses every link it has, fails over between them and prioritises voice — the right answer when sites have more than one connection, when call quality between sites matters, or when there are enough locations that tunnels have become a job.

What happens to our phones if the internet goes down?

With 4G/5G backup on the router, the connection fails over within seconds and the phone system, EFTPOS and cloud apps carry on. Without it, a hosted phone system falls back to its own rules — ringing mobiles or taking messages — until the link returns. We recommend backup for any site where the phones matter.

What support do I get?

Whatever you know — "an old on-prem PBX", "Telstra mobiles and no IT support", "not sure" is fine.
