4G/5G backup

When the NBN drops, nobody in the office should notice

An outage is not a fault report, it is a room full of people who cannot take calls or payments. A 4G or 5G backup on your router cuts in within seconds when the primary goes down and hands back when it returns — with the phone system, EFTPOS and cloud apps carrying on. We configure the failover, watch it, and tell you when it has been used.

  • Automatic failover in seconds
  • Phones and EFTPOS keep working
  • Sized to what actually needs to stay up
  • Monitored, so you know it was used

Why choose us

Cuts in on its own

The router watches the primary link and switches the moment it fails. No cables to swap, no call to make.

Built for the essentials

Voice, payments and the apps that keep the doors open. We prioritise them so the backup is not eaten by downloads.

On the mobile account

The backup SIM sits on the same account as your handsets, on the network with the best coverage at the site.

Router options

A backup module in your existing business router, or a router we supply and manage as part of the service.

Reported

You hear from us when the site fails over, and see how long it was on backup.

Also for the ute

The same service in a vehicle or site office where there is no fixed line at all.

Sizing the backup

A backup does not need to match the primary. It needs to carry the calls, the EFTPOS and the handful of cloud apps the business cannot pause. We size the data plan to that, and the router shapes the rest so a Windows update cannot starve the phones.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to our phones if the internet goes down?

With 4G/5G backup on the router, the connection fails over within seconds and the phone system, EFTPOS and cloud apps carry on. Without it, a hosted phone system falls back to its own rules — ringing mobiles or taking messages — until the link returns. We recommend backup for any site where the phones matter.

Which mobile networks do you use?

Both of the big ones. Our plans run on the Telstra Wholesale and Optus Wholesale 4G and 5G networks, and you choose per user or per site by who actually has coverage where your people work. Coverage maps for each are on our coverage page.

What support do I get?

Unlimited support from our Adelaide-based team is included. Log a fault online, call us, or let a technician connect with our remote support client. Managed customers have 24/7 coverage.

Whatever you know — "an old on-prem PBX", "Telstra mobiles and no IT support", "not sure" is fine.
What is not working today, or what you are trying to achieve. A sentence or two is plenty.
